Tap Settings at the bottom and select Video.

This is the list of hardware decoders supported by Apple devices.
Video files encoded as above can be decoded by a hardware decoder and played.

If you set Auto, a video file that can be played via hardware decoder is decoded by hardware decoder and played.
If you set Hardware or Software the video file is played via applicable decoder.
